How The Voting System Works

News
Individual track scores are based on collective votes from many different sources over long periods of time; voting has therefore been restricted in order to preserve the integrity of the site... it was once possible to vote 'abundantly', now you've got to obey a few rules.

Hard Line:
Only ONE vote can be cast for a track/song during a single calendar month UNLESS you're logged in.

If someone else has already voted for a specific track then you'll see a small 'x' where the
+/- vote buttons normally are.

When you cast a vote you'll either add or take away 0.01 points from the score... it's pretty simple.

However, you get more votes and freedom if you LOGIN:

  • You get 100 votes per month which you can use on any single song / album / artist - you decide;

  • There are no single vote per track restrictions;

  • You have your own page where you can keep track of your favourite songs over time.

NOTE. There are a few minor restrictions which apply to both logged in and non-logged in visitors:

  • No track may have a site score below ZERO (0.00).
    We don't want any 'haters' on the site. Thanks.
    If you're logged in and vote for a track below '0' you'll only register the vote within your own personal profile.

  • No 'protected' tracks (MP3 samples) can be voted below 0.25 points. This is to make sure that historically classic tracks/albums maintain a minimum points status.

That's pretty much it.

Voting patterns for non-logged in visitors are shown using
